How to Read the Price Clock: Your Complete Guide

Grid Price shows electricity prices in an intuitive clock format — giving you a complete picture of current and upcoming prices at a glance. Here's how to read it and get the most out of our service.

The Clock Display

The main clock shows the current price and the next 10 hours. Each sector represents one time period (hour or 15 minutes, depending on your selected mode).

Want to see the full 24 hours? Click the "Graphs" button to view the complete price chart for today and, when available, tomorrow's prices as well.

🕐 Reading the Sectors

Each clock sector tells you two things:

  • Fill level — How full the sector is indicates relative price. Fuller = more expensive.
  • Color — The color shows the absolute price range (see scale below).

Tap or click any sector to see the exact price for that time period.

Understanding the Color Scale

Colors range from green (cheap) to black (extremely expensive):

Green 0–5 ¢
Yellow 5–10 ¢
Orange 10–15 ¢
Red 15–25 ¢
Purple 25–40 ¢
Dark 40+ ¢

The exact thresholds may vary slightly, but the principle is consistent: greener = cheaper, darker = more expensive.

ℹ️ Prices include VAT All prices shown include VAT for your selected region. This is what you actually pay (plus grid fees and supplier margin, which don't change by hour).

Quick Start: Your First Look

  1. Check the clock colors Green sectors = good time to use electricity. Red/purple = wait if you can.
  2. Look at the current price pointer Is it toward the left (cheap) or right (expensive) of the scale?
  3. Plan ahead with graphs After 14:00, check tomorrow's prices to schedule overnight activities.
  4. Make it a habit A quick glance before running the dishwasher or charging your car can save real money over time.
💡 Pro tip Bookmark the page or install the app, and check it briefly before any energy-intensive activity. Even a 30-second glance can tell you whether to proceed now or wait a few hours. Over a year, these small decisions add up to meaningful savings.
